We love creating custom jewelry. The process of working with a client is one of the best parts of the job. Getting to know the person, what they want and the meaning behind the piece is what brings that unique design to life. Every piece has a story and here are just a few we’d like to share.

Brother Allman

Location: Florida

Materials: Turquoise

Luke was a good friend of Gregg Allman from way back in the days when he worked for the Allman Brothers Band. He was gifted this cuff about 35 years ago and hasn't been able to wear it for the last 15 years because he lost a stone. So happy to get this old friend back to you where it belongs.....on your wrist! Thanks for being an amazing customer!

Tie Tac With Mount Everest Stone

LOCATION: Evergreen, Colorado

MATERIALS: Silver, Stone (Mount Everest)

Marshall has summited the highest mountain on every continent. A few Years ago, he had me polish several stones that he brought back from Everest. Here is a tie tac that I made for him from one of the stones. I am so lucky to have such fascinating customers!

This project came about as Marshall was about to do a lecture on his travels. The piece would be given to an audience member who answered a question correctly at the end of his presentation. He wanted me to make a tie tack and in our design consultation we came up with the concept of a mountain. I pulled a photo of Mt. Everest as my inspiration. He didn’t want to give it away! That’s OK Marshall, I can make you another!

Matt's Ring.jpg_1675872653

Oak Cask Wedding Ring

LOCATION: Ft. Collins, Colorado

MATERIALS: Zirconium, Wood (Oak Cask)

Matt works for Colorado’s beloved New Belgium Brewing Company. The brewery had just retired their original Oak Cask and Matt wanted wood from it to be inlayed into his wedding ring. After the wedding, relatives called me to say that the ring was the talk of the day! How could there have been a more perfect ring for Matt.

When Matt came in to have his custom wedding ring designed he wanted a black ring with oak inlay. We discussed the durability of his options with black metal and decided on Zirconium as the material for his ring. He  brought me a chunk of wood from New Belgium's cask and the rest is history.

LOCATION: Los Angeles

MATERIALS: Silver, Turquoise, Amber

This pendant was created for a movie that was filmed in Colorado. I was given freedom to create a design based on the movie poster. The director wanted the piece to look rustic and 30 years old while using amber and turquoise in my interpretation. The screenplay of the film revolves around the necklace.

Bullet Pendant

LOCATION: Washington D.C.

MATERIALS: Silver, Copper, Brass(Bullet)

Tres S. works at the Pentagon. He was wounded in Afghanistan. This bullet went through three of his limbs. After years of sitting in a drawer, he was ready to have it made into a pendant. It was an honor to create this piece for you sir.

Tres wanted the bullet to be wire wrapped and suspended from a leather cord. He wanted something that looked rugged. I did an initial drawing but this piece evolved to something even better than the drawing. Sometimes that happens with a piece, when you work with a stone or object it takes you where you need to go. The creative force at its best.

“I live in Anchorage, Alaska and had been stumped by what to get my Mom for the holidays. She lives in Denver, CO and I was looking for something unique and locally made. Rather than ordering something off of a “big chain store” website, I was able to quickly do business with Sowilo Artisan Jewelry. It was fun, easy and now my Mom will have a jewelry piece that is as unique as her. Thanks Sowilo, I look forward to shopping with you again!” – Maeve

My wife recently took a ring to a jeweler in Aurora and the jeweler messed it up badly. She made it looking brand new!! Much appreciation to Bonnie and the wonderful work she does.” – Jered B.

“I had a unique problem with an antique I owned and the owner of the shop fixed it quickly and easily when I was worried it was entirely broken. She was incredibly nice and charged us a fraction of what she could have, easily earned our business for life.” – Adam G.

“Bonnie is the greatest! She can design amazing custom pieces like she did for my wife – a silver bracelet with black diamonds inlaid, very delicate yet sturdy. Also, she is the best jewelry repair person in the western hemisphere. Go see her, you will not be disappointed.” – Tony & Janice O.

“Great find on Pearl Street! I got an original silver ladies necklace for mom – she loved it! Also got a unique silver money clip for a friend. They also have great earrings, stone pieces, etc. The owner is super helpful and a true artist. It sounds like she’s been in the industry for a long time so she offered a lot of great advice and value in picking a piece.” – Pat D.

“Bonnie at Sowilo Artisan Jewelry made me a custom piece of silver jewelry, a beautiful amethyst and white topaz brooch as a Christmas gift for a friend. She’s fantastic! Bonnie picked out some stones for me and I chose my favorite. The brooch is better than I could have ever anticipated.
